Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Happy Chinese New Year! There is a phenomenal support group in my area for families who have and are adopting babies from China. Tonight we all gathered to celebrate Chinese New Year. It was a little bittersweet for me as I so wish I had Emma to take with me, but I know that in time...in time...

Dave - Our fearless parade leader! (And Elizabeth's Dad)
Elizabeth placing her donation on our Love Tree. The money collected goes to help the thousands and thousands of orphans still waiting...

Chinese New year portrait number 4! (I think I've gained 10 pounds of weight with every year of wait!)

The children gathered on stage to perform a few songs. It was priceless. Elizabeth takes performing very seriously! :)

All the babes who have found their forever families...

Also, I have another reason to celebrate today...can you believe it's been 2 years since My "log in date"? 24 months closer to baby Emma...hard to believe...

No worries about the weight--I don't know if you read my Today Show post on my private blog, but when the woman called me after the show aired she said, "I didn't recognize you. You look a lot different than your photo". Yeah, whatever. That wait/weight is murder.

You look beautiful and you look happy. I know you have waited for a long time and the only thing I can tell you is it is worth it. It truly is (well, at least with my little guy. Of course, I think he is the perfect child so I may not be the best one to ask).

I will try to email you tomorrow after I have had some sleep (the Spud has been refusing his bedtime bottle so he wakes up during the night for a bottle--ugh).

Oh my! Thanks for the pics!! Guess you heard J was not feeling well just as we were almost ready to leave. He kept going back to his bed and he usually is jumping on it! Thanks so much for sharing what I missed!! I have to add, I also think you look beautiful!
Miss you!

I found your blog through Cindy's blog, and am enjoying following your journey! I know the waiting is so hard, and did a toll on my waistline over the past 2 and 1/2 years! Hang in there.....your day is getting closer:)
