Meet my friends - Spot, Goldie...and yet to be named! The kids LOVE the fish and laugh big belly laughs watching them eat!
We're doing a three day unit on watermelon - to celebrate National Watermelon day - August 3. Today we wrote words that describe watermelon and did an experiment - "Will it sink or will it float?" I felt like I was on David Letterman!
They were flabergasted when it began to float! I was impressed though when they began expressing their theories as to why it floated...they figured it out!
More work....slave driver teacher!

I'm so happy for you!! Fish and all ;) Our fish were ground up by the pump filter on our pond.. yuk. Fish have never had the same appeal since. Glad you are settling in! Looks like a sweet group of kiddos! Enjoy the year!
Looks like a good start to the year! I still have next week to enjoy before heading back. The kids don't start till after Labor Day, though. I'm hoping for a good year. Considering I'll be spending 3-4 months with my new little one, hey, I really can't complain!
Have a great week!

I'm glad you have a good class! I wonder if they realize what a fantastic teacher they have? Wish my boys could have you for a teacher!
