Trip preparation

I spent WAY too long shopping tonight for things for the trip.  I am still wondering how it's all going to fit in a suitcase -uner 40 lbs - and a carry on...but it will.  I laid out Emma's clothes and toys that will go on the trip...it's getting more real by the minute.

This is stupid - never been to China but my son and his wife lived there for 2 years. I would stick some peanut butter in. Remember that books weigh a lot! You may leave some things there and replace with things you want to bring back.

Hi Angie, Remember you can go to the convenience store and Walmart in China and buy Cheerios, Diapers, crackers, noodle soup, etc. Your guide can help you read the labels and suggest what to buy. That is what we did and we were glad we didn;t pack it all. I was glad I packed clothes made of Fast dry fabric because I did a lot of hand washing. I shopped at Chicos for comfortable clothes and REI for tech fabric pants and tops. I was happy I packed PJs and even wore them some afternoons in the hotel room while Vivian was sleeping. You can buy kids clothes at Walmart, etc when you are there. Happy packing!

There are lots of baby stuff available in China. Be sure to pack some stuff to make the trip more comfortable for YOU! That is the biggest packing mistake I made.

And I second, third and fourth the peanut butter. The food there made me wicked sick.
