...and the kitchen sink

I finally started packing for China tonight. How on earth am I supposed to get all this stuff into one suitcase? I am trying to do it in an organized fashion, but somehow it seems that the more I try to organize, the bigger mess I make. Same thing happens when I clean.

As I put her clothes in the pack mates, I just about bubbled over! I am so close to seeing her in these clothes...I am so close to holding her in my arms...1 week and 1 day! That was a little distracting to the packing process!

So...for now, I am trying desperately to leave the kitchen sink here...but just in case, does anyone know a plumber in China who could install this sink for me when I get there????

Surely you aren't taking all of that? My son and his wife bought most of their items there in the market places. Of course, you could only take a suitcase for Emma!

Can't wait to see you and that pumpkin together!

Just don't hurt yourself trying to cart it all there! Lisa is pretty small--she can only help so much! :) Love you and am so very excited!

Have fun packing. Remember you can do laundry there and maybe only bring 5 diapers -- just to get by until you can buy some there. Goog Luck!

really - you don't need a tone of stuff - take the meds - a few (10-15)night time diapers (for flights) use China diapers - take 1 pkg of wipes - maybe 1 toy - really everything is a toy- the water bottle tipping back and forth-the crumple of paper - trust me - maybe 1 bottle and one small container of formula (shop there) !!! maybe 2 outfits - 1 shoes (few socks)plastic bibs(2) a few cloth(if she is drooling) and that is about it - you can get it there REALLY - carrefour - and super wal mart have it ALL and then some - and it is fun to have bottle fm there( I left so much stuff in my dughter's adoption city) that was not needed (she was 14 mths). Happy Trails!

hey Ang...since you got those plastic pants to go over the diapers...you definately do not need to take a bunch of diapers!!! Just take maybe 5-6!! You can get all you need there.

I also wouldn't even take any toys or shoes for her!! We forgot the toys on Aly's trip and she had WAY more fun with the water bottles and the little container of cheerios!! The only toy we took for Lili was the one small thingy that Aly picked out to give her and she didn't really even play with it much!! As far as shoes...we just took a pair of those bootie slippers and then bought shoes for DAYS while in China!!
Just sayin'...as I think of it I pass it on!! :-)

Sooooo excited for you and really looking forward to seeing that sweet girl in your arms.

I agree with everyone here. China has come a long way even from our first trip 6 years ago to our third trip 3 years ago and you just don't need to take much. Have fun bringing treasures HOME with you, but dont take too much with you. I did like having the baby clothes I had chosen here (wasnt thrilled with theirs)but laundry is cheap there and a few diapers were nice to have(but those are decent quality in China now too). And of course take meds. We actually travelled carry on only even with the first trip and all was well. :)

Anyhow, wishing you all the best!!
