I know it's blurry, but you get the point. It's a ladybug...ladybugs are considered good luck in the China Adoption world. Anyway, when I got home, I had an email from my friend Carolyn - who is also adopting from China - that January 07 is out of the review room! YEEHA! I made it through one more hoop! Just 6 months to 4 years of hoops to go...somehow that is not very comforting...

I am NOT the kind of person that believes in those tales of seeing ladybugs (and other such fables).. BUT, I experienced so many sightings of ladybugs during the final 5-6 months prior to our referral that I actually began to believe this. It's weird I know. The most intriguing sighting came the night before we got the call. Dave, John and I were walking back to our car from the beach in N.J. and I saw something land on John's shoulder (he was walking just in front of me). I told him to stop, and when I looked closer, it was the most beautiful big ladybug I had ever seen. I squealed and yelled for Dave to get the camera. Just as we were ready to snap the picture, she flew away.
